Braised Lamb Shank

What you need

Here are the essentials

  • 2 lamb shanks
  • 3 Lamb Cubes
  • 3 sprigs of rosemary, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, peeled and chopped
  • 1 onion, peeled and chopped
  • 100ml red wine
  • 500ml boiling water
  • 20ml olive oil
  • 20g gravy granules

How to make it

Here's what you need to do

  1. Score the lamb shanks several times
  2. Add the rosemary, garlic, onion and olive oil to a bowl, mix well
  3. Cover lamb shanks in the mixture, leave in fridge for 2 hours
  4. Add the lamb shanks to a hot frying pan, seal until golden in colour
  5. Place the lamb shanks in a saucepan
  6. Dissolve the Lamb Cubes in boiling water
  7. Pour red wine and stock over lamb shanks, cover and simmer for 2½ hours
  8. Remove the lamb shanks and put to one side
  9. Sieve the remaining juices into a separate pan and thicken with gravy granules
